You're right, Kris, it probably will. Or at least be much more "popular" in Japan.
But if it's being filmed in the U.S., I really don't think they're gonna find enough Japanese/Chinese/Korean etc. actors and actresses to fit the role for the amount of nationalities in there.
If it's based on the Orochi saga, we're in deep shit.

I kind of doubt it will even be 'more popular' in Japan, but possibly. I couldn't say.

They probably could actually find enough actors of the ethnicities they'd need. That probably won't be the problem. Most of them will not be big names and that could be a problem. Well, this movie's going to just plain suck, big names or not, so, whatever.

I have no idea what it's based on, but I assume it's probably not based on any games in particular. They're probably largely just making all of it up. Expect that, anyway.
